How to fix Droid X2 Lag/freeze issue and music skip

Droid X2 Lag Fix

First, we have to root the Droid X2, which you can find on RootResTutorials blog.

Download The app SetCPU from somewhere, As usual Allow superuser when opening the app. click auto detect, and set the minimum frequency higher than original.

OPTIONAL: Download the free app from the play store named Cool Tool and monitor your CPU frequencies and pay close attention to how they change, and then you can tune to reach maximum efficiency.

In my case my X2 always switched from 216Mhz to 1000Mhz because the CPU usage raised, that causes even more CPU usage and then the phone cannot switch frequencies fast enough and thus it freezes. This will also eliminate most lag and music skipping, Enjoy your like new X2!!

How to Overclock/Underclock Your CPU

Overclocking 101

Overclocking your processor may damage your device if you are not careful of what you are doing. I am not responsible if anything bad happens to your device.

1st. Make sure you have an overclocking kernel, Most custom ROMs come with these kernels

2nd. Download SetCPU Here.

3rd. Transfer the app to your SDcard like anything else.

4th. Look for the app with a file manager and install it.

5th. Open the app, it will ask for Root permissions, allow it and press autodetect speeds. Now you can over/under clock your CPU with the sliders at the top.

HAPPY OVERCLOCKING!

BTW: You do NOT need a custom kernel to underclock.
